85 grain tsx 6.8 penetration
I have a boatload of SSA 85 grain TSX tactical loads coming in tomorrow. I have always used SSA grain TSX standard loads. I am excited about moving to a lighter weight and hotter load and decided it was time to purchase a chronograph to test the velocity. It will be in by the end of this week.

I was at another agency this week and had the opportunity to make some mm shots into their gel; this gel testing was not done to our usual standard, but The 95 gr TTSX was penetrating " further than the already deep penetrating 85 gr TSX (18" or so); on the other hand, the gr Accubond was.
Some random thoughts on the terminal performance characteristics of some of the more common projectiles in mm: My comments in red. Barnes 85 gr TSX JHP -- These all copper, lead free bullets bullets offer good expansion and penetration, even out of shorter barrels. They would be useful as both an LE and military.
