Description:Fetishes are carvings of animals, birds and beings which are believed to have spiritual powers. Zuni and Navajo artists create beautiful images of bear, buffalo, wolf, eagle, raven, owl, badger, mountain lion, frog, snake, coyote, corn maiden and many other figures buy carving them in stone, antler or sometimes even glass. Turquoise, jet, marble, coral and pipestone are just a few of the minerals used in creating these lovely pieces of art. Our fetishes are often inlaid with Turquoise, coral, onyx or mother of pearl and many are skillfully etched with ancient designs. Healing, longevity, fertility, vision, and abundance are but a few of the gifts that are attributed to fetish powers.
